Position Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior React Developer (Frontend Engineer) to join our team supporting a major financial client, UBS. This role requires strong UI development skills, deep expertise in React.js, and the ability to deliver high-quality, scalable, and secure applications within an enterprise banking environment.

You will work closely with backend teams, UX designers, business stakeholders, and technical leads to build modern digital solutions and enhance existing platforms.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, enhance, and maintain enterprise-level frontend applications using React.js and modern web technologies.
• Work with Redux / Context API for state management in complex applications.
• Build reusable, scalable, and high-performance UI components.
• Integrate frontend components with RESTful APIs and microservices architecture.
• Collaborate with UX/UI teams to convert wireframes and designs into responsive interfaces.
• Optimize application performance, reliability, and security for large-scale banking systems.
• Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and design sessions.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and fix application issues in production and UAT environments.
• Ensure adherence to UBS coding standards, SDLC processes, and security guidelines.
• Mentor junior developers and contribute to technical leadership decisions.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 12+ years of professional software development experience.
• 8+ years of experience in React.js, JavaScript (ES6+), TypeScript, HTML5, CSS3.
• Strong experience with Redux, Context API, Hooks, React Query or similar tools.
• Experience with Webpack, Babel, Node.js and frontend build tools.
• Good understanding of REST APIs, Microservices integration.
• Expertise in Responsive Design, Cross-Browser Compatibility, and UI performance tuning.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
• Experience in Financial / Banking domain is a major plus.
• Strong problem-solving, debugging, and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication skills—ability to work with onsite teams and stakeholders.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Next.js or server-side rendering (SSR).
• Familiarity with Jest, React Testing Library, and unit test automation.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab, GitHub Actions).
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) is beneficial.
• Experience in UX best practices and accessibility (A11Y) standards.

Education

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (preferred).
