Job Title: SAP S/4 HANA Financial Systems Manager

We’re looking for a Financial Systems Manager who lives at the intersection of Finance, Accounting, and Technology. This role is the go-to Subject Matter Expert (SME) for SAP S/4HANA and related finance systems, helping ensure everything runs smoothly, scales smartly, and actually makes people’s jobs easier.
This role reports directly to the Director, Financials Systems. You’ll partner closely with Finance, Accounting, and IT to support system changes, troubleshoot issues, and continuously improve how we use technology to power the business. A Typical Day
- Own the Finance Systems (and Be the Expert Everyone Calls)
- Serve as the SME for SAP S/4HANA Finance, including core accounting and related integrations.
- Build deep expertise in system configuration, data flows, controls, and downstream impacts.
- Advise Finance and Accounting teams on system capabilities, best practices, and smart ways to use SAP.
- Lead Testing & System Changes
- Facilitate testing for SAP S/4HANA enhancements, upgrades, patches, and new functionality.
- Design and execute test plans, coordinate user acceptance testing (UAT), and validate results.
- Partner with IT and external vendors to ensure changes are delivered smoothly and with minimal disruption.
- Solve Problems (Before and After They Happen)
- Act as the first stop for finance system issues coming from the business.
- Troubleshoot operational challenges and collaborate with IT to identify root causes and fixes.
- Communicate clearly with stakeholders — no black-box answers or technical jargon overload.
- Make Things Better (and More Efficient)
- Identify opportunities to streamline, automate, and optimize finance and accounting processes using SAP S/4HANA.
- Recommend practical, scalable system solutions that improve efficiency, data quality, and controls.
- Help turn manual work into automated workflows wherever possible.
- Collaborate, Document, Improve
- Work cross-functionally with Finance, Accounting, IT, and other teams to align systems with business goals.
- Support documentation, training, and knowledge sharing so users feel confident using the system.
- Assist with audit, compliance, and internal control requirements related to SAP finance systems.
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, or a related field
- 3+ years of experience working with finance and accounting systems, with hands-on SAP experience (including Fiori)
- Strong understanding of core finance and accounting processes (GL, AP, AR, close, reporting)
- Experience leading or supporting system testing and UAT
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively with IT and business partners
Nice to Have
- Experience with SAP S/4HANA implementations, migrations, or major enhancements
- Background in finance transformation or business systems roles
- Understanding of system integrations, data flows, and internal controls
- Exposure to Distribution, CPG, or related industries
