C2C

We are seeking an experienced Embedded Architect to lead system and software architecture for automotive infotainment platforms, including Cockpit Domain Controller (CDC), In-Vehicle Infotainment (IVI), and Rear Seat Entertainment (RSE). This role requires deep expertise in embedded systems, Android-based HMI, and automotive domain integration, with a strong focus on scalability, performance, and safety.

Role Purpose

The Embedded Architect will own the end-to-end architecture across hardware and software layers, defining robust and production-ready solutions that integrate middleware, connectivity, multimedia, and vehicle networks.

The role demands a balance of strategic architectural thinking and practical engineering guidance to ensure high-quality system delivery across multiple vehicle programs.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will define and evolve system and software architectures for infotainment ECUs and domain controllers spanning CDC, IVI, and RSE. You will be responsible for allocating system requirements across hardware, platform software, middleware, Android frameworks, and application layers while ensuring seamless integration with vehicle interfaces.

A significant aspect of the role involves leading the architecture of Android-based HMI and applications, ensuring optimal interaction with underlying embedded platforms. You will define and monitor performance KPIs such as boot time, responsiveness, media latency, connectivity performance, and resource utilization, and guide engineering teams in achieving these targets through sound architectural decisions.

You will also contribute to system-level problem-solving by supporting root cause analysis, particularly in cases where issues highlight architectural or integration gaps. Ensuring compliance with safety standards, including ISO 26262, ASIL/QM coexistence, and partitioning principles, is a key expectation.

Additionally, you will play a central role in enabling platform reuse, conducting architecture reviews, evaluating suppliers, and driving informed trade-off decisions.

Required Expertise

The ideal candidate brings strong expertise in embedded systems and software architecture, including functional decomposition, interface design, and distributed systems. Experience in automotive infotainment—particularly within CDC, IVI, or RSE domains—is essential, along with a solid understanding of multimedia systems, connectivity technologies, and vehicle networks such as CAN and LIN.

You should have hands-on experience architecting Android-based HMI systems, including familiarity with the Android framework, HAL, IPC mechanisms, and performance optimization techniques. A good understanding of multimedia pipelines, multi-display systems, and audio/video synchronization is also expected.

From a quality and safety standpoint, knowledge of ISO 26262, diagnostics, fault handling, and ASPICE-based development processes is important. The ability to define measurable KPIs, guide performance improvements, and support system-level debugging is critical for success in this role.

Experience Profile

This position typically requires 12–18 years of overall experience in embedded systems, including at least 8 years in automotive infotainment or cockpit electronics and 5 or more years in architecture roles. Candidates with over 15 years of experience, including significant ownership of architecture in production programs, are strongly preferred.

Candidate Profile

The successful candidate is a seasoned architect who can operate effectively across both high-level system design and deep software architecture. They have a track record of delivering production infotainment platforms and demonstrate strong technical leadership, sound architectural judgment, and the ability to collaborate across OEMs, Tier-1 suppliers, and global engineering teams.
