Job Description: Cloud/DevOps Architect
Location: Chicago, IL (Onsite)
We are looking for a talented Cloud/DevOps Architect to join our technology team. The ideal candidate will have deep experience designing, building, and managing cloud infrastructure, with a primary focus on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and a strong working knowledge of Amazon Web Services (AWS). You should be passionate about automation, infrastructure as code, and modern DevOps practices.
Key Responsibilities:
Cloud Architecture:
Design, implement, and optimize secure, scalable, and highly available cloud solutions, primarily on GCP and also on AWS.
DevOps & Automation:
Drive DevOps best practices, including CI/CD, automated testing, and deployment. Use Terraform and scripting (Bash, Python, etc.) to automate infrastructure provisioning and management.
Containers & Kubernetes:
Architect, deploy, and manage containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes. Optimize container orchestration, scalability, and security within cloud environments.
Collaboration & Communication:
Work closely with engineering, security, and business teams to gather requirements and deliver cloud solutions. Create clear documentation and deliver technical presentations for both technical and non-technical audiences.
Cloud Security & Troubleshooting:
Apply best practices for cloud security and compliance. Monitor and troubleshoot cloud environments to ensure performance, reliability, and cost efficiency.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Proven experience architecting and operating cloud solutions, with deep expertise in GCP and strong AWS skills.
Advanced proficiency in DevOps tools and practices, including CI/CD and infrastructure as code (Terraform).
Strong scripting abilities (Bash, Python, or similar).
Expertise in containers and Kubernetes for cloud-native application deployment.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Ability to work collaboratively and mentor team members.
Preferred Qualifications:
Certifications in GCP and/or AWS.
Experience with additional DevOps tools (e.g., Jenkins, Ansible, Docker).
Familiarity with agile methodologies.
