Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced SAP EWM Functional Consultant to oversee inventory operations across Logistics Service Provider (LSP) environments. The role involves managing inventory accuracy, leading functional design initiatives, collaborating with stakeholders, and ensuring seamless testing and deployment of SAP EWM and IM solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- LSP Inventory Oversight
- Monitor and manage inventory levels across LSP-operated warehouses and distribution centers to ensure optimal stock availability.
- Prevent stockouts and overstock situations through proactive planning and analysis.
- Perform regular inventory reconciliations between ERP/WMS systems and LSP reports.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Define, implement, and enforce inventory management policies, procedures, and KPIs.
- Oversee cycle counts, physical inventory counts, and audit processes at LSP locations.
- Business Requirements & Functional Design
- Lead business process workshops with stakeholders and LSP partners.
- Gather, analyze, and document business and functional requirements.
- Develop key documentation including:
- Functional Specifications (FS)
- Business Process Procedures (BPP)
- Fit-Gap Analysis
- Translate business needs into SAP EWM configurations and ABAP development specifications.
- Communicate design decisions and manage scope changes with stakeholders.
- LSP Relationship & Performance Management
- Act as the primary point of contact for LSP partners on inventory-related issues and escalations.
- Conduct regular performance reviews based on SLAs and contractual KPIs.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance inventory accuracy and operational efficiency.
- Support onboarding of new LSPs, including process setup, system integration, and training.
- Test Planning & Execution
- Develop and manage end-to-end test strategies including:
- Unit Testing (UT)
- System Integration Testing (SIT)
- User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
- Create detailed test scripts and cases with clear execution steps and expected outcomes.
- Execute test cycles, track defects, and ensure timely resolution.
- Coordinate cross-functional testing with MM, SD, PP, and TM teams.
- Prepare Test Summary Reports and secure stakeholder sign-off before go-live.
- Define and execute regression testing for enhancements and post-go-live changes.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Strong experience in SAP EWM (Extended Warehouse Management) and Inventory Management (IM).
- Proven experience working with Logistics Service Providers (LSPs).
- Expertise in inventory control, reconciliation, and warehouse operations.
- Experience in SAP configuration and functional design documentation.
- Knowledge of integration with SAP modules (MM, SD, PP, TM).
- Strong testing experience across UT, SIT, and UAT phases.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- SAP EWM certification is a plus.
- Experience in large-scale SAP implementations or rollouts.
- Familiarity with ABAP specifications and coordination with technical teams.
