Job Description:
We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Java Lead Developer with over 12 years of hands-on experience in designing and developing enterprise-grade applications. The ideal candidate should be proficient in Spring Boot, Microservices architecture, Docker, Kubernetes, and at least one major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP). This is an onsite position in Chicago, IL, requiring close collaboration with cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities:
Lead the design, development, and deployment of complex Java-based applications.
Architect and implement microservices using Spring Boot and cloud-native principles.
Mentor and guide junior and mid-level developers, conducting code reviews and ensuring best practices.
Develop CI/CD pipelines, manage containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes.
Collaborate with DevOps, QA, and Product teams to ensure smooth delivery.
Perform performance tuning, troubleshooting, and optimization.
Ensure security, scalability, and reliability of applications in a cloud environment.
Document technical solutions and contribute to architectural decisions.
Technical Skills Required:
Core Java, Java 8/11+
Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, JPA/Hibernate
Microservices Architecture
Docker, Kubernetes
CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, etc.)
Experience with RESTful APIs, OAuth2/JWT
Cloud Platforms: AWS / Azure / GCP (at least one)
Database: PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, or similar
Messaging: Kafka, RabbitMQ, or similar (nice to have)
Familiarity with monitoring tools (Prometheus, ELK, Grafana, etc.)
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
12+ years of Java development experience, with at least 4 years in a technical leadership role.
Strong understanding of cloud-native application design and modern DevOps practices.
Excellent communication and leadership skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams.
Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation).
Certification in any cloud platform (AWS/Azure/GCP) is a plus.
