Job Summary:
Bread Financial is seeking an experienced AI/ML Lead to lead the development, deployment, and optimization of machine learning solutions. This role demands deep expertise in Azure Databricks, Python, and AWS, along with hands-on MLOps experience and a proven ability to lead teams through the end-to-end ML lifecycle. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical leadership and a passion for building scalable, production-grade ML solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design, development, and deployment of scalable ML solutions across Azure and AWS environments.
- Guide a team of data scientists, ML engineers, and MLOps specialists through full project lifecycles.
- Build and optimize ML pipelines in Azure Databricks, incorporating best MLOps practices.
- Work closely with business stakeholders and product managers to define project goals and deliver impactful AI/ML models.
- Oversee model versioning, monitoring, and governance in production environments.
- Collaborate with cloud engineering and data platform teams to ensure smooth integration and scalability.
- Implement CI/CD pipelines for ML workflows and ensure reproducibility and compliance.
- Stay current with advancements in AI/ML and identify opportunities to apply them to business problems.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in AI/ML engineering, including 2+ years in a leadership role.
- Strong hands-on experience with Azure Databricks, Python, and AWS.
- Deep understanding of MLOps practices, tools (e.g., MLflow, Airflow, SageMaker), and deployment strategies.
- Proven ability to build end-to-end ML pipelines and manage models in production.
- Experience leading cross-functional teams and mentoring junior engineers.
- Familiarity with containerization (Docker), version control (Git), and cloud security standards.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with data lake architectures (Delta Lake, S3, etc.)
- Exposure to model explainability and governance frameworks
- Strong communication skills and experience working with business stakeholders
