Position Overview: We are seeking a Senior Data Engineer to lead the design, development, and deployment of scalable geospatial data solutions. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of geospatial data processing, ETL pipelines, and data integration using tools such as PySpark, SQL, Informatica, and Oracle Data Integrator (ODI). This is a hybrid role with an emphasis on impactful analytics and collaboration across technical and business teams.
Key Responsibilities:
• Design, develop, and maintain geospatial data pipelines using PySpark and SQL.
• Integrate data from diverse sources using Informatica and ODI to support geospatial analytics.
• Implement validation, transformation, and cleansing processes to ensure data quality and integrity.
• Analyze complex geospatial datasets and deliver actionable insights for business stakeholders.
• Develop and optimize data models and workflows tailored to geospatial data processing needs.
• Collaborate with product managers, analysts, and data scientists to define solution requirements.
• Oversee the deployment, monitoring, and tuning of geospatial applications in a hybrid environment.
• Research and adopt emerging geospatial and big data technologies to drive innovation.
• Maintain clear documentation, including technical specs and user-facing guides.
• Mentor junior engineers and help build best practices for geospatial data engineering.
Required Qualifications:
• 8+ years of experience in data engineering, with a strong focus on geospatial data.
• Strong hands-on experience with:
o PySpark and SQL for data processing
o Informatica for ETL development
o ODI (Oracle Data Integrator) for integration and orchestration
• Solid understanding of geospatial data formats, modeling, and coordinate systems.
• Experience working in hybrid or cloud-based environments (AWS, GCP, or Azure preferred).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, with experience collaborating across functions.
• Experience in the transportation, travel, or aviation industry is a plus.
