Job Title: QA Healthcare Payor & Claims
Location: Bloomfield, CT (Onsite) — Locals Only
Duration: Contract
Job Summary:
We are seeking a seasoned QA Lead / SDET with strong experience in healthcare payor systems and claims processing to lead quality assurance efforts for mission-critical applications at Cigna. The ideal candidate will have deep knowledge of QA methodologies, automation frameworks, and healthcare domain practices, and will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality software solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage QA activities across multiple healthcare payor and claims projects.
- Define, implement, and maintain test strategy, plans, and automation frameworks.
- Collaborate with product owners, business analysts, developers, and other stakeholders.
- Create and maintain test cases, test scripts, and automated test suites.
- Perform API, backend, and front-end testing with a focus on claims adjudication and member eligibility systems.
- Drive defect triage and resolution in coordination with development teams.
- Mentor and guide junior QA engineers and coordinate QA efforts across teams.
- Ensure adherence to compliance and regulatory standards (HIPAA, CMS, etc.).
- Generate test reports, dashboards, and quality metrics for leadership.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- 10+ years of QA experience with at least 2+ years in a lead or SDET role.
- Strong background in healthcare payor domain – claims processing, provider/member data, eligibility, EDI (834/837).
- Hands-on experience with test automation tools (e.g., Selenium, REST Assured, Postman, JUnit/TestNG).
- Solid programming/scripting experience (e.g., Java, Python, JavaScript).
- Experience with API testing and automation using tools like Postman or REST Assured.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps tools (Jenkins, Git, JIRA).
- Knowledge of SQL and ability to validate data at the DB level.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure).
- Exposure to data testing and big data frameworks.
- ISTQB or equivalent QA certification.
- Prior experience working with Cigna or similar large payor organizations.
