Job Description
- Key Responsibilities
- Current State Assessment
- Conduct detailed analysis of the existing data management landscape, including systems, data domains, governance processes, and data quality practices.
- Map current MDM-related processes and data flows across the organization.
- Identify pain points, redundancies, and integration challenges in the current environment.
- Requirements Gathering
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, data owners, and IT teams to capture functional and non-functional MDM requirements.
- Prioritize requirements based on business impact, compliance needs, and future scalability.
- Define business rules and governance needs for key data domains (e.g., customer, product, supplier).
- Target State Definition
- Design the target state MDM architecture, including data model, integration architecture, and governance framework.
- Define how MDM will integrate with ERP, CRM, analytics platforms, and downstream applications.
- Ensure alignment with enterprise data strategy, data governance policies, and cloud/on-prem hybrid strategies.
- Roadmap & Implementation Planning
- Develop a phased implementation roadmap, including short-term wins and long-term MDM maturity goals.
- Define resource requirements, timelines, and cost estimates for the MDM program.
- Identify dependencies with other enterprise initiatives
- Tool Assessment & Recommendation
- Conduct a detailed evaluation of MDM tools like Informatica MDM, SAP MDG, and Reltio against defined business and technical requirements.
- Assess tool capabilities in data modeling, workflow, governance, integration, scalability, and cloud readiness.
- Provide a comparative analysis with strengths, weaknesses, risks, and recommendations for the best-fit solution.
- Stakeholder Communication & Leadership
- Present findings, architecture blueprints, and recommendations to executive stakeholders.
- Partner with business and IT leadership to secure buy-in for the MDM strategy.
- Act as a thought leader for data management best practices and trends.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Management, or related field.
- Experience:
- 15+ years of overall experience in the Data and Analytics space.
- 10+ years in data management, data architecture, or enterprise architecture roles.
- 7+ years specifically in Master Data Management architecture and solution design.
- 5+ years specifically in Master Data Management implementation using different MDM tools and platforms.
- Proven experience with MDM tools such as —Informatica MDM, SAP MDG, and/or Reltio.
- Skills:
- Deep understanding of MDM concepts, data governance, data quality, data modeling, and integration patterns.
- Strong analytical skills to assess current state and identify gaps.
- Ability to design complex MDM data architectures and create actionable implementation roadmaps.
- Experience in multiple master data domains (Customer, Product, Supplier, Asset, etc).
- Experience with both on-prem and cloud-based MDM deployments.
- Familiarity with data quality tools, metadata management, and enterprise integration platforms.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills for executive and technical audiences.
- Industry experience in Aerospace Manufacturing (preferred and not mandatory)
