Title: Python Developer with strong AWS
Location: Reston, VA or Plano, TX (interviews in person )
12 months contract
Scope of Work: Supporting “Developer Experience” platform by creating Python APIs built in AWS framework
Must Haves: Python APIs, AWS common services (Lambdas, ECS, EC2)
- Contributing to platform engineering initiatives by building foundational systems for enterprise-wide use at Fannie Mae
- Developing and maintaining Python-based APIs to automate GitLab processes, replacing legacy Java APIs
- Working with AWS services including Lambda, ECS, and EC2 to support scalable, in-house enterprise frameworks
- Extracting and analyzing metrics from pipelines to identify areas for performance improvement and optimization
- Developing enterprise framework with a focus on Python as they already have existing framework called chassis framework, which is a Java based framework, so they want to developer similar framework using python
- Leveraging Python frameworks like Flask and FastAPI for backend development.
- Minimal UI involvement using Angular; role is primarily backend and infrastructure focused
- Supporting cross-functional teams by creating reusable services and tools to streamline development efforts
